Sample learning activities

Sometimes when you read a new syllabus, it can be difficult to imagine how the content would look in the classroom. Some examples of teaching and learning activities have been prepared to show how sections of each syllabus might be taught.  These sample learning activities show one way that the syllabus could be approached but does not imply that it is the best way. Teachers will have their own ideas about how to teach a topic effectively for their own class groups. The activities that you will find here show how participatory and active learning methodologies can be used and how the key skills can be developed through the subject in question.

The learning activities are linked to the learning outcomes in the syllabus and give ideas about how lessons could be structured, how the key skills are developed through the lessons and provide tools and resources that teachers can use to teach the topics.
